WIZDOM INTRODUCES METHODOLOGY NAVIGATOR!

Latest Development In WizdomWorks! Suite of Products

NAPERVILLE, IL May 17, 1997 -- Continuing their aggressive pursuit of providing the latest Business Process Reengineering (BPR) solutions, Wizdom Systems, Inc., today announced the expansion of the WizdomWorks! product line to include the Methodology Navigator. The Methodology Navigator is the first software of its kind, allowing users to create their own BPR project methodology, load their own procedures, or customize any existing BPR methodology into a tool designed specifically for their enterprise’s project needs. After the user chooses the procedures that make up the Methodology of a project, the Methodology Navigator links with MS Project to create a custom project timeline and resources guide. "With the Wizdom Methodology Navigator, the BPR Project team is no longer bound to high priced consultants or dependent upon proprietary methodologies," said Dennis Wisnosky, Wizdom founder and CEO. "This opens up the opportunity to be creative and insures ownership of the project results."

Wizdom finds that with BPR all but institutionalized in American industry and government, companies are looking for ways to streamline what used to be a resource intensive effort. Wizdom's Methodology Navigator, with its pre-loaded Minerva™ methodology and standards-based project and process templates, provides that streamlining capability. Using Wizdom's Methodology Navigator, small and large companies alike can achieve the breakthrough productivity gains BPR can deliver without expending the man-years of effort previously required. Based upon hundreds of person-years of experience in performing BPR projects, Minerva guides the BPR analyst from strategic assessment, through AS-IS analysis, to TO-BE design and implementation, continually tying improvements to strategic goals. Other Methodologies, including the DoD Framework or any user defined methodology are available as options. The DoD Framework enables simple compliance with Klinger-Cohen and GPRA (Government Process Reengineering Act). The Wizdom Methodology Navigator literally provides an electronic template for Framework, thus for GPRA.

The Methodology Navigator helps you navigate through your process improvement, BPR, or reinventing project step-by-step, plus it provides the ability to attach and manage documents related to each step. When a Project Procedure requires that a particular application be executed to create a model or perform an analysis, for example, the Navigator launches that application for you. This lets you find the correct file and opens the file with a click of your mouse. You can see a complete picture of your project status at any time and you can even create a project team where individuals have various levels of access to the project database. In addition to being both Windows and Windows 95 compatible, the Methodology Navigator has the following features:

  • Easy to use . . . designed for the novice or the expert
  • Flexible . . . methodologies can be customized
  • Automatic. . .efficiently launches the projects and programs you are using
  • Management tiers . . . track your documents
  • Easy Integration. . . with other MS Windows based software
  • No roadblocks. . .Import and Export multiple file formats

Wizdom Systems, Inc. has provided BPR software, consulting and training services and methodology since 1986. Wizdom has consistently been the technology leader and innovator in techniques necessary for successful reengineering based on process improvement for customers across industries ranging from healthcare to government to suppy chain management. Wizdom used Minerva on the Manufacturing Assembly Pilot (MAP) project for the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG). In MAP, based on MINERVA results, Wizdom proved that two thirds of the benefit of EDI is derived by process improvement, not by technology implementation. With MAP, Wizdom achieved the project goal of a reduction in order processing time from 10 days to 1 day.

Wizdom's goal is to continue to improve and expand the WizdomWorks!® Toolset according to customer needs and industry direction.
