Wizdom Announces Partnership with NETg to Customize NETg Courses:
Partnership Combines Benefits of
Off-the-Shelf and Custom Training Solutions

Naperville, IL - June 15, 2000 - Wizdom Systems, Inc., a leading provider of custom training solutions, announced today a key alliance with NETg, a leading global provider of technology-based training (TBT), to customize NETg courses. This announcement comes on the heels of the unveiling of NETg’s new course customization technology, NLO+, that allows NETg customers to mix and match content (NETg Learning Objects™) from different NETg courses, add in their own content, and disable content that is irrelevant.

As an authorized NETg Custom Development Partner, Wizdom has more than fifteen years of custom training development experience in a variety of media, including instructor-led and technology-based training. In addition, Dr. Martin Retzer and Phil Vitkus of Wizdom served at NETg in instructional design and managerial capacities, clearly demonstrating an intense familiarity with NETg training product design and capabilities.

Wizdom has the full support and endorsement of NETg executive staff. "Wizdom is known for attending to their customers’ specific instructional needs, providing custom training that impacts job performance and gets business results, and just simply getting the development work done when the customer needs it. We at NETg look forward to working with Wizdom to provide our customers with extremely focused technology-based training that reflects their way of doing business," said Ken Grisham, Vice President of Product Development for NETg.

To take advantage of Wizdom’s expertise in customizing NETg courses, companies must have a license for using NETg courses and purchase a license agreement for using NLO+. Then, Wizdom sets up a contract independent of NETg license agreements. Upon setting up the contract, Wizdom’s instructional designers work with the customer to identify how to customize NETg courses to meet the customer’s needs. Customizing existing NETg courses may take the form of:

  • combining NETg instructional units, lessons, or topics from multiple NETg courses
  • merging the company’s real-world examples into NETg’s off-the-shelf products
  • streamlining NETg courses to give personnel just the skills they need when they need it

"Customizing NETg courses brings to our customers the best of both worlds, off-the-shelf and custom training. NETg has historically produced the most instructionally sound off-the-shelf training products available, providing its customers with the widest array of IT and end user training across the most popular technology delivery platforms. Companies drawing upon NLO+ and Wizdom’s customization services can now include company examples that help the NETg training "come alive," as well as help their employees know exactly how, why, when, and where to apply the skills they learn through NETg courses," said Dr. Michael Tillmans, director of training at Wizdom. "In addition, creating bite-sized training courses now positions NETg courses to function as just-in-time, just-as-needed performance support tools."

Contracts between customers who want NETg products customized and Wizdom will vary in length and cost, depending upon the specific customization needs. After purchasing an NLO+ licensing agreement with NETg, NETg customers require no additional license agreements with NETg to have a course already licensed modified.
