Wisnosky gave keynote address, “Heading, Altitude and Airspeed: Time Cost and Quality KPIs”, at the Transformation & Innovation Conference in Washington, D.C.
Wisnosky’s address takes the audience inside the cockpit of an airplane, comparing it to Enterprise Architecture. The address is based on a chapter of his book, DoDAF Wizdom, a how-to handbook for the Department of Defense Architecture Framework. Dennis E. Wisnosky, founder and CEO of Wizdom Systems, Inc., has published six books and over one hundred papers in the fields of management, DoDAF, CAD/CAM, electronics, computer science, and CIM. He is the originator of the funnel visualization of enterprise control networks. For the past year, Wisnosky has been working with the DoD Business Transformation Agency, formerly BMMP, leading the development of the BEA. Last December About BEA 3.0, the GAO said, "DoD made more progress in six months than in the last four years." Recently, about BEA 3.1 GAO said, "DoD continues to make ourstanding progress". Dennis Wisnosky's contributions to Business Process Engineering begin with its conceptual foundation in the 1970s, when he founded and managed the U.S. Air Force's Integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing program. In the private sector, he went on to lead International Harvesters' corporate technology initiatives, then started up a leading producer of robots, cell controllers, and CIM services before founding the Wizdom companies in 1986. Recognition for his pioneering work includes the International Engineer of the Year Award, testimony before the U.S. House and Senate on productivity and quality of work life issues, Crain's Illinois Business High Tech Entrepreneur Award, University of Pittsburgh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering distinguished Alumni Award, California State University's Medallion of Distinction lifetime achievement award, the San Fernando Valley Engineers Council International Engineer of the Year Award, and the USAF Meritorious Civilian Service Award. In May of 1997, Wisnosky was recognized by Fortune Magazine as "One of the Five Heroes of Manufacturing" A multi-engine, instrument rated pilot, Wisnosky holds a bachelors degree in Physics and Mathematics and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management Science. Transformation and Innovation 2006 was produced in partnership with leading business media including Business Transformation Journal, z/Journal, Enterprise Open Source Journal, Participants learned the most up-to-date strategies, techniques, and technologies for SOA, Leveraging Open Source, Enterprise Architecture Modeling and Modernization as well as Best Practices for BPM and Process Optimization.
