Project Home Area
The project home area displays a number of quick links of things you may need to
do, such as e-mail the team or write an announcement. It also lists recent
files you have viewed for quick access as well as the day's events,
announcements, and current tasks needed to be completed.
Project Plan
Project overview screens allow teams to manage the schedule and resources all
within DoDAFLive! or export to MS Project. You can also import your MS
Project plan to DoDAFLive! to ensure the entire team is viewing the
most up-to-date version by having it on the web.
Another feature of the project plan is the ability to view info files
associated with a specific task. Each project also contains its own calendar
and discussion board.
Calendar
Keep track of what is going on with each project by using its built-in calendar.
You can even import from MS Outlook! Flag team members as participants of an
event to send a reminder to them the day before it is set to occur. You can
also include a location, status, and priority of each event. Better yet, your
user home area calendar will include all the events of every project where you
are on the team along with any personal events you may wish to include.
Document Management
With the check-in, check-out feature of managing documents, team members will no
longer risk updating or using outdated material. If a document is checked-out,
it can not be edited by anyone else until it is checked back in, ensuring that
no information gets lost during the editing process. In case a document gets
lost after check-out, the toggle in-use can be used to make the document
available for editing again.
DoDAFLive!'s document manager also keeps a history of versions for each
document as well as a status of being finished or not. Rolling over a file's
name will give a description if supplied by the person who checked it in.
