Course Description:
Your company and clients are constantly improving productivity & customer service. Process mapping is a fundamental building block in the continuous improvement cycle, a basic skill needed by members of self directed work teams, process re-engineering teams, and quality service/continuous improvement initiatives on the line and at supervisory levels.

Today's high performance teams need the skills and leadership to be able to identify and prioritize potential problems and their symptoms, depict how the current process works and make suggestions for improvements. In this one day course you will learn to accomplish this through focusing on the customer's needs and seeing how resources are distributed across tasks.

This workshop provides technical and facilitation skills so you can lead or participate in cross-functional work teams in the manufacturing or service sectors. You will learn to:

Determine priorities for problems and processes with the Nominal Group Technique.

Develop AS-IS process maps for departmental or cross-functional business processes, identifying value-added and nonvalue-added activities.

Analyze and redesign business processes to focus on meeting customer needs through determining potential problems & opportunities.

Identify problem causes and solutions with the Cause & Effect Diagram (Ishakawa fishbone).

Develop measures appropriate for tracking redesigned processes.
